Guo Jingming directs his own novel adaptation

17 Jan – It was revealed that mainland Chinese author, Guo Jingming will be directing his own movie, an adaptation of his best-selling novel series, "Tiny Times" with Yang Mi to star.

Jayne Stars website reported that the movie, based on the novel of the same name, will be a co-production between mainland China and Taiwan, and is to be produced by Taiwanese producer Angie Chai of "Meteor Garden" and "You Are the Apple of My Eye" fame.

It was also revealed that mainland actress Yang Mi plays one of the four friends and lead characters, alongside Taiwanese actresses Amber Kuo, Bea Hayden, and Hsieh Yi Lin.

Meanwhile, actors Kai Ko, Chen Xuedong, and Rhydian Vaughan are playing the group's male friends and love interests in the movie.

The best-selling "Tiny Times trilogy" series revolves around four best friends with four different personalities living in the growing cosmopolitan of Shanghai. Guo will also serve as a screenwriter for the movie.

The movie is currently slated for a 27 June release in mainland China.

Meanwhile, "Tiny Towers 1.0" will also be an adaptation of the novel into a 40-episode television drama, which will star Peter Ho, Ivy Chen, and Li Yifeng to name a few.
