Nic Cage death hoax

18 Jan – Global Associated News is well-known for publishing fake reports on celebrity deaths and this time the website made Academy Award winner and "Ghost Rider" star Nicolas Cage its new victim as it claimed that the veteran actor lost his life during a snowboarding incident in Switzerland, which was immediately proven to be false.

The site stated that Cage had lose control when he was snowboarding at the Zermatt ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland and thus led himself to a fatal high-speed crash.

"Witnesses indicate that Nicholas Cage lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed. Nicholas Cage was air lifted by ski patrol teams to a local hospital, however, it is believed that the actor died instantly from the impact of the crash. The actor was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played any part in his death," the report said.

Many fans believed that the news was real and some of their reactions on social media sites ranged from; "RIP Nicolas Cage. I just watched "It Could Happen To You" earlier...such sad news...such a great actor" and "NO NO NO NICHOLAS CAGE IS DEAD?!".

Since it is just another internet hoax and Cage is still alive, the "National Treasure" actor will next be seen in yet to be dated movies "The Frozen Ground" and "Joe".

Previously celebrities such as Johnny Depp, Jon Bon Jovi and Gotye fell victim to their infamous death hoax back in 2012.
