Robert Pattinson admits he “got to the end of [his] inspiration” as the Twilight saga drew to a close.

The British actor is famed for his role as vampire Edward Cullen in the popular fantasy franchise. Robert has explained that he began to struggle with finding fresh angles for the big screen part .

However, the 26-year-old heartthrob remains grateful to the hugely successful franchise that turned him into an international superstar.

“Playing the same part for a while, you just run out of ideas. I'm not trying to get away from it. You're screwing yourself, you're saying you think your work is sh*t if you try and get away from it. And I never thought it was [s**t]. But I kind of got to the end of my inspiration. You get to the point where you're like, 'I don't want to do a film for a teen audience anymore',” he told British magazine shortlist.

Robert also spoke about his role in upcoming movie Cosmopolis.

Directed by David Cronenberg, the film follows a 28-year-old billionaire descending into an odyssey of strange and illicit encounters during a limousine ride through New York.

The Hollywood hunk revealed that while he was keen to please the legendary filmmaker, he couldn’t go through with one of the revealing scenes.

“Five minutes before we started filming, David said ‘I want the bottom of your b*lls at the top of the frame.’ I remember thinking that at that moment, I would do anything this guy asked me to do,” he told website Metro. “But then I had to go and see him and tell him I couldn’t do it. He took it very well. What you will get is a very bizarre scene you won't be seeing again anytime soon ... I promise.”
