Tae-yang on the Scandals

27 Oct – In light of all the controversies surrounding South Korean boy band Big Bang, which started off with Daesung's accident, followed by G-Dragon's marijuana case, fellow member Tae-yang finally spoke out about its impact on the group, according to kpopfever.

On 25 October, Tae-yang told fans via Twitter, "I think all the hardships we went through this year were sent our way in order to make us stronger. Thank you once again for all your concern and love. Love ya."

This is the first of such statement since Dae-sung and G-Dragon were involved in their respective controversies.

Back in May, Daesung was connected to a car accident, which unfortunately led to the death of a motorcyclist while G-Dragon has received suspension of indictment for having smoked marijuana back in July.

However, it seems that the boys are back at the top of their game.

After weeks of voting for the "World Wide Act Asia Pacific Nominees" category for the upcoming 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards, the boys of Big Bang have won for the Asia Pacific region and have now advanced to the "Worldwide Act Nominees" category.

The boys will be representing the Asian Pacific region and competing against Abdelfattah Grini (Africa/India/Middle East), Lena (Europe), Restart (Latin America), and Britney Spears (North America). The winner will be revealed at the MTV EMA 2011 on 6 November.
