Many stellar K-Pop music videos were released on YouTube in the past six months but for those of you wondering which ones were the biggest hits, wonder no more!
YouTube released its top 10 most watched K-Pop music videos for the first half of 2012 on July 16.
Two lists were released with one taking into account the most watched music videos in Korea and the other, the most watched worldwide.
In the global list, Big Bang’s Fantastic Baby topped the ranking with over 33 million views (as of the chart’s posting). Following was another Big Bang song, Blue while Big Bang′s tracks Bad Boy and Monster also placed fourth and sixth on the list respectively.
SM Entertainment’s groups also made a strong showing on the list with Taetiseo placing third with Twinkle, f(x)’s Electric Shock fifth and SHINee’s Sherlock eighth on the chart.
Finishing out the global list’s ranking was SISTAR’s Alone in seventh, Wonder Girls’ Like This in ninth and 4Minute’s Volume up in tenth.
In the domestic ranking it wasn’t an SM or YG artist that topped the top ten but the sultry Alone by SISTAR which was followed by Taetiseo’s Twinkle and Wonder Girls’ Like This in second and third respectively to show girls groups reigned supreme in Korea for 2012’s first half. Another girl group, T-ara, placed seventh with Lovey Dovey while female soloist IU and her recent single Every End of the Day placed tenth.
Big Bang also took the fourth, fifth and eighth spots on the domestic ranking with Blue, Fantastic Baby and Monster respectively.
Reflective of the Busker Busker phenomena in Korea, the group’s Cherry Blossom Ending ranked ninth making the band the sole rookie group to place in the top 10 in the ranking.
